For quite a while during the last two years I’ve been thinking about what membership in a local congregation means. Why should anyone want to be a member? What do you get out of a church? And what are you committed to giving to that church?

It was wonderful to see our church filled almost to the brim last week on Easter Sunday! Now, will you keep it going? If it was worth coming last Sunday, won’t it be worth attending this Sunday too?

On Easter Day, we celebrate the astonishing, miraculous resurrection of Jesus, an event that changed the course of history. Yet the whole redemptive work, not only the one phase of the resurrection, is the object of Easter’s celebration.
