King of Grace is a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod and holds the following points of doctrine:
We believe the only true God is the Triune God, revealed in the Bible as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Although there are many in the world who claim to follow and worship a “supreme being,” only those who believe in this Triune God can be saved.
We believe that God has revealed himself to people through his written word, the Holy Bible. We believe that the Old and New Testaments are God’s own words and are therefore without error in every detail.
We believe that God created all things in six days by the power of his word, exactly as Genesis describes.
We believe that Adam and Eve were created in the image of God, but lost their harmony with God through their own fault. All humanity continues to suffer their consequences. All people are by nature enemies of God and subject to physical and spiritual death.
We believe that God the Father sent his only-begotten Son into the world to rescue humanity and creation. Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God—fully God and fully a man in one Person.
We believe that Christ’s death was sufficient to redeem the entire world.
We believe that Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead.
We believe that only by faith in Jesus and his resurrection can a sinner receive the benefits of forgiveness Christ has obtained.
We believe that a person’s conversion to faith is an act of God the Holy Spirit, accomplished through hearing the word of God.
We believe that baptism is an act of God by which he brings a sinner to faith and gives him or her forgiveness and salvation.
We believe that the Lord’s Supper is an act of God in which Jesus gives his true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins and strengthening of faith. This Supper is to be shared only among those who are united in their doctrine.
We believe that good works are a necessary fruit of faith in the life of a Christian.
We believe that only qualified men are to be ordained as pastors.
We believe that all Christians are to be ministers of God’s love to others.
Abortion results in the death of a human being. We believe that is a choice only if saving another life.
We believe sex is to be reserved for one man and one woman united in marriage.
We believe God has created human beings as male or female. If a person’s mental gender and physical gender disagree, their mental state is disordered. With compassion they should be helped to restore a healthy self-image.
We believe that on the last day, Jesus will return to raise all people from the dead. He will confirm his eternal relationship with believers, but those who have rejected him will be eternally and terribly separated from him.
